Wife of the forty-first president of the United States, George H. W.Bush, and mother of the current president, George W. Bush, Barbara Bush was First Lady from 1989 to 1993. As First Lady, she focused on such important issues as literacy, homelessness, and AIDS awareness.
My most memorable times spent with the lovely Princess Diana were visiting hospitals in the USA and England. She had an extraordinary ability to talk to the sick and dying—to put them at ease and to bring hope and joy to their lives. This was a special gift, and she gave it graciously.
